As summer heats up, Paul Davis team members are volunteering in their communities to improve lives for people who need an extra helping hand. Here’s where we contributed over the last several months:

Aiding a Fallen Officer: Mike Shaw, a technician with Paul Davis of Portland/Vancouver, Washington, was recently honoured by his community as a Citizen Service Medal Honoree. He heard gunshots one evening and rushed to help an injured police officer, saving the man’s life until help arrived.

Giving Mobility to A Wounded Veteran: Paul Davis of Central Virginia partnered with Nation of Patriots, a local organization helping wounded veterans, and Harley Davidson to build a wheelchair ramp for a man in need of their help. The two organizations had trouble finding a contractor but this project was so successful that Nation of Patriots has chosen Paul Davis for all future projects of this type.

Recovering from Tornadoes: Paul Davis of Central Georgia volunteered in numerous locations to help people whose properties were damaged by two recent, devastating tornadoes. “This was definitely a week to remember,” says Brian Peavy, Senior Associate Estimator. “It was pretty awesome to see what ‘We are Paul Davis’ truly stands for.”

Helping People Healing from Addiction: Paul Davis of Greater Birmingham, Alabama, began organizing a large outdoor charitable event that will benefit the Will Bright Foundation, a non-profit to assist recovering addicts. Planned for August, organizers aim to raise $100,000.

Raising Funds for Pancreatic Cancer; Supporting Future Careers: Paul Davis of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, marched in PanCAN PurpleStride, a day of walking and charitable events to battle pancreatic cancer. Team members also participated in a College & Career Day organized by the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Florida.
